Application area
This standard establishes the terms and definitions, requirements and rules for marking ceramic tiles and slabs of standard 1st grade (manufactured by extrusion or semi-dry pressing). Requirements for ceramic tiles and slabs not complying with standard 1st grade are given in Annex Q. This standard does not apply to ceramic tiles and slabs manufactured by technology other than extrusion and semi-dry pressing, as well as to decorative elements and friezes (for example, edges, corners, plinths, arches, moldings, flangings, ledges, curved tiles and slabs, etc.), as well as on mosaics (i.e. elements laid on a surface of 7x7 cm, see trade nomenclature).
Note : EN ISO 10545 specifies test methods for determining the characteristics of products given in this standard. EN ISO 10545 consists of parts, each of which specifies separate test methods.
