The origins of Sopro Bauchemie GmbH are closely connected with the German cement plant Dyckerhoff, located in Wiesbaden. In 1985, the company Dyckerhoff Sopro GmbH was formed, its main activity was the production of tile adhesives, grouts, levelers, waterproofing and other construction chemicals.
In 2002, Dyckerhoff Sopro GmbH became part of the Mapei Group, the world's largest manufacturer of construction adhesives. Since that time, the company name has been transformed into Sopro Bauchemie GmbH.
