Schluter-Systems

The history of Schluter-Systems dates back to 1966, when master tiler Werner Schluter decided to create his own tile laying company, Schluter Tile. He came to this decision gradually over several years. While tiling bathrooms, young Werner Schlüter noticed that the edges of tiled surfaces remained vulnerable to chipping. Then he came up with the idea of creating L-shaped metal corners, which not only protected the tiles from damage, but also hid the unglazed edges and provided a smooth transition between adjacent surfaces. In 1975, this idea was materialized in the SCHIENE profile.

1987 was one of the most important years in the company's history: the innovative DITRA membrane appeared in the product line. This membrane formed the basis of the following products: DITRA-DRAIN, DITRA-SOUND, DITRA-HEAT.

The year 1990 was marked by the emergence of the Schluter-Systems brand and the rapid expansion of the business.

Currently, Schluter-Systems is a recognized leader in its industry. The company has divisions in Italy, Spain, France, Great Britain, Turkey, USA, Canada.
