On October 20, 2016, a training seminar for partners was held at the RUSSPLIT trade and exhibition hall. The main topic of the last seminar was working with the end consumer. More information about the seminar . The speakers were:

The flexural strength values depend on the type of ceramic tile and are determined according to the methodology outlined in the ISO 10545-4 standard.
For floor tiles with a water absorption of 0.5 < E < 3%, the flexural strength must be more than 30 N/mm2. For wall tiles with water absorption E > 10%, the flexural strength must be more than 15 N/mm2. For porcelain stoneware E <= 0.5%, the bending strength must be more than 35 N/mm2.
The actual values of the bending strength of ceramic tiles are higher. So, for example, if we take Kerama Marazzi products, we get the following values:
For floor tiles with water absorption 0.5 < E < 3% - 39 N/mm2; For wall tiles with water absorption E > 10% - 20 N/mm2; For ceramic granite E<= 0.5% - 55 N/mm2.
In our store, the share of sales of Italon porcelain tiles is very significant. I regularly communicate with representatives of this plant and end users of the products. So, I can confirm that Italon porcelain tiles comply with:
1) from the point of view of PRODUCTION, without fail, the requirements of GOST 6787-2001; 2) from a QUALITY point of view, voluntarily and ONLY IN THE CASE OF FIRST GRADE TILES, the requirements of EN 14411 (ISO 13006), Annex G.
The following should be noted:
1) Test methods described in EN ISO 10545 establish more stringent requirements compared to those described in GOST 27180-2001; 2) The technical conditions presented in Annex G of the EN 14411 (ISO 13006) standard are more restrictive than those presented in GOST 6787-2001.
Thus, the compliance of ITALON porcelain stoneware with the EN ISO standard indicates an undoubtedly higher quality of the material than if only the conditions of GOST standards were observed.
Nowadays there are manufacturers of ceramic tiles from different countries on the domestic market. Of course, sellers of their products say that production meets all necessary standards.
It is important to know that the tile manufacturer is not obliged to comply with certain standards that establish quality criteria for ceramic products. But the decision to produce according to standards demonstrates the responsibility of the manufacturer, his commitment to maintain a high standard of quality.
Regarding slip resistance, you just need to clarify the test method used (there are: German methods for determining the coefficient of friction in accordance with DIN51130 and classification A, B, C in accordance with DIN51097; American method for determining the static coefficient of friction in accordance with ASTM C1028; English method for determining the dynamic coefficient of friction - now used almost exclusively in Italy - in accordance with BCR TORTUS, etc.)
The water absorption rate refers to the shard, that is, to the mass of the tile as a whole, and not to the surface. Therefore, in the case of glazed products, this characteristic does not affect the glaze, which, being a glassy waterproof coating, is devoid of porosity.
If, on rare occasions, tiles are clearly defective upon opening the box, they should not be installed and should be reported to the seller immediately. They will exchange them for you or return the money you paid for them.
Why not cardboard? In both cases, it will not absorb moisture, and therefore will not collapse. But there will be gaps for movement of the base and coating from temperature and humidity expansion during further operation. Although I agree - foam will be more reliable.
Fugalite Eco Invisibile epoxy grout is recommended for filling joints from 0 to 3 mm. This limitation is due to the fact that with such a joint width the effect without a discontinuous plane is pronounced for glass mosaics, ceramic parquet and stone cladding. If such an effect is not needed, then you can grout seams up to 20 mm wide.
Fugalite Eco epoxy grout has a neutro color, which is positioned as transparent. The technical data sheet states: “Thanks to the transparency of the micro glass beads, Fugalite Eco (neutro color) reflects and diffuses light, reflecting the colors of tiles and mosaics, creating the amazing impression of a continuous finish.” Adhesion between porcelain stoneware and concrete more than 1.5 MPa. This suggests that this grout can be used as an adhesive.
Thus, Fugalite Eco epoxy grout (neutro color) is a good example of a transparent adhesive and grout for tiles and mosaics.
Now on sale there is an epoxy grout Fugalite Eco Invisibile , which contains glass microbeads and is therefore transparent. The property of transparency allows it to ensure continuity of tile and mosaic cladding. This grout can be used as an adhesive. It was very convenient to glue the mosaic with this compound and the seams were rubbed with the same compound. The cured mixture has excellent chemical and stain resistance.
Thus, this epoxy grout is a good example of a clear adhesive and grout for tiles and mosaics.
