Primers

Primers (primers) are compositions applied as the first layer to the base before applying any material in order to reduce and equalize water absorption, improve the adhesion of applied materials, bind exfoliated particles, etc.

Slipping

Displacement under the influence of gravity of tiles or slabs laid on a vertical or inclined surface on a layer of mortar or adhesive processed with a notched trowel. According to EN 12004.

Adjustment time

The maximum period of time during which the position of tiles or slabs after laying on a layer of mortar or adhesive can be adjusted without significantly reducing the strength of adhesion to the substrate upon tearing. According to EN 12004.

Exhaustion

Separation of slowly settling small particles of a polydisperse suspension from rapidly settling larger and heavier particles by draining a liquid containing particles that have not yet settled from the settled sediment. According to TSB.

Breaking load

The value, in Newtons, obtained by multiplying the magnitude of the breaking force by the distance between the support rods, divided by the width of the test specimen. According to ISO 10545-4.
